Winter 2013

Dear Friends,

It’s hard to believe that we are so close to the Holiday Season already! This year flew right by so fast!

We started off with lots of rain in the spring spoiling most of our gardens. Then the heat came and burned what was left of the gardens! But we still received many complements from you. Thank you.

It was so nice to see so many of our repeat friends this year. We seem to just pick up where we left off from the year before. We also lost some regular guests who felt they had seen enough of Ogunquit and Rockmere Lodge. We shall miss them. But we also met a lot of new smiling faces too! Here’s to a long relationship, welcome to the Rockmere Lodge family.

As we approach the Holiday Season, we would like to point out that Rockmere Lodge Gift Certificates are ready to be sent to that special someone on your gift giving list. You can do it online from our webpage or by calling us at 1-888-646-2985. Doug turns them around and out in the mail the same day. The earlier the faster we can get them out.

At this time we have some rooms open for the second weekend of Christmas-By-The-Sea, the first weekend being full already. And don’t forget a quiet New Year’s Eve at Rockmere Lodge. Welcome in the New Year “the way life should be”.

We would like to mention our weekday special going on now. From Monday to Thursday, all rooms are $89.00 per night D.O. This rate does not apply to Holidays falling on a weekday. Please check our webpage at www.rockmere.com for those rates. As of now the special will run until the end of March. So give us a call to reserve. We would love to see you over the winter months!

Also a big thank you for those who took the time to leave a review about us on Tripadvisor.com and BedandBreakfast.com.

And an even bigger thank you to those who left something in the gratuity envelope, you helped us to help our four legged friends at the shelters we support as they wait for their forever new home and family to come their way. We are also able to buy more food items for our local food pantries. What with Andy’s smart shopping for sales and store coupons we are amazed how much more we have to give this year. We thank you for helping us give to others.

We still have the Tim Janis CD made especially for the Ogunquit Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Fund available at $13.95 plus $3.00 shipping if interested. It would make a great present for anyone who enjoys his music.

As of this writing, the only new items of interest in Ogunquit are that Arrows Restaurant is up for sale and Katie’s Café is up for rent or sale.

The 2014 Season for the Ogunquit Playhouse has been announced as follows: Grease, Mary Poppins, Billy Elliot, The Witches of Eastwick, and Smokey Joes Café.

So, as we end this year, we have a lot to be thankful for both in business and in health. As you may know Doug had back surgery this past September. His is up and around and doing well. Andy had a heart attack beginning of November. He also is doing real good, going slower J but still going strong! Bob is doing excellent, enjoying the warm Florida weather! We all count our blessings.

As we end this Winter Newsletter, we hope to hear from and see you all soon. Have a Very Happy and Healthy Holiday Season and a Very Happy and Prosperous New Year!

Our best to all of you,

Andy, Doug, Bob and the “kids”
